Southwest Indian Foundation

Founded in 1968, the Southwest Indian Foundation is a non-profit foundation which supports the Native American communities of the Southwest — including the Navajo, Zuni, Hopi, Laguna, Acoma, and Apache tribes — to restore dignity, self-reliance, and hope. Services include school grants and individual tuition assistance, homes for battered women and children, home repair and wood stove installation, Christmas food baskets for needy families, alcohol counseling, and emergency assistance in the areas of food, clothing, heating fuel, and temporary shelter. In addition, a few years ago we launched our Indian Craft Catalog to provide a national outlet for Native Americans to sell their precious handmade goods. All donations are 100% tax deductible and 50% of the cost of all purchases are tax deductible.
Southwest Reservation Aid

The Southwest Reservation Aid™ (SWRA) Program provides a variety of services to hundreds of Native American communities on reservations in the Southwest. Due to the high rates of poverty and unemployment on these reservations, many Native Americans struggle to provide the necessities of life for their families. We have developed a unique approach in helping to ease some of this hardship, with special focus on vulnerable children and Elders.
All SWRA services involve Native Americans from the reservation communities we serve. These Program Partners volunteer their time and efforts to help fulfill our mission: “Serving immediate needs. Supporting long-term solutions.”
DigDeep Navajo Water Project

On the Navajo Nation, 30% of families live without running water. They drive for miles to haul barrels of water to meet their basic needs. They carefully ration water for drinking, cooking, cleaning and bathing. But despite their struggle for water, these families still go to work, take their children to school and lead their communities.
Running water is transformational. We’re on a mission to get clean, hot and cold running water to more households, so families can stop hauling and start enjoying the simple miracle of a working tap. It takes us just 24 hours to bring clean, hot and cold running water to a Navajo family — so donate and watch the 24-hour transformation begin.
